Gajendrakumar on U.S. visit

Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam, Jaffna district Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarian, joined Mr. Sampanthan, Parliamentary Group leader of TNA who arrived in the U.S. a week earlier, to address Tamil audience at the annual convention of the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA) Sunday evening in Baltimore U.S., sources in U.S. said.
 Mr. Ponnambalam is visiting U.S. to speak at the annual meeting of a Washington based Tamil organization on the current state of the peace process, sources said. Organizers said that several expatriate Tamil groups have requested Mr.Ponnambalam to visit their respective States to speak at several community meetings during his short stay. Mr.Ponnambalam and Mr.Sampanthan are also scheduled to participate in discussions at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Washington DC, latter part of this week, sources close to the visiting parliamentarians said. Both parliamentarians are also expected to meet U.S. State Department officials during their short stay in the U.S. Teresita Schaffer, former Ambassador of the United States to Sri Lanka, is currently the Director of CSIS.
