Remand extended for Sivaram murder suspect

The suspect in the slaying of journalist Dharmaratnam Sivaram, Sriskandarajah, was remanded till 27th September by the Kaduwela Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Champa Janaki Rajaratna on Wednesday, legal sources said.

Mr Sriskandarajah is not brought to appear in open court due to security reasons while the case is being heard.

Inspector of Police, R.M.A.Rajapskse, of the Colombo Crime Division informed court that investigations into the killing have not yet concluded.

Mr.Sivaram was abducted on April 28th from near the entrance to a restaurant in Bambalapitiya and his body as found near the Parliament grounds the following morning.
