Vanni patients stranded in Jaffna hospital

Nearly 150 patients from Vanni who had completed their treatment at Jaffna Teaching Hospital have been stranded in Jaffna town, unable return to their homes for more than a month due to the closure of A- 9 highway since August 11 .Patients include mothers who had just delivered their babies. Hospital sources said the young mothers and their infants are in good health.

Attempt by the Director of the hospital with SLA personnel to make arrangements to send them to their homes have failed.
