500 Tamil police personnel to be appointed in Jaffna

Jaffna district Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Roshan Fernando, said that 500 Tamil young men and women are to be selected to be trained as police constables, sub-inspectors and inspectors to serve in Jaffna district to meet the need for Tamil police personnel, in a press meet held Tuesday in Jaffna police station, sources in Jaffna said.

Gazette notification calling applicants will soon be made, the SSP said and added that interview for the above posts will be held in the police stations in Jaffna, Thellippazhai, Point Pedro, Oorkaavattu’rai and Chaavakachcheari.

He further said that aspirants for the above posts can obtain the application forms from their local police stations in Jaffna.

Persons living in other areas other than Jaffna too can obtain the application forms from the police stations where the interviews will be held, he informed.
