Tigers capture large area - radio

The Liberation Tigers have brought an area of 30 sq km with twenty villages under their control as part of their ongoing offensive codenamed 'Unceasing Waves 3' said the Voice of Tigers (VoT) radio tonight.
Forty LTTE fighters were killed in the attack on Sri Lanka Army (SLA) base at Oddusuddan yesterday. The operation is advancing through Nedunkerni said the radio. The bodies of SLA troops were lying scattered around the area and are being recovered, said the VoT. Meanwhile six civilians in Mullaitivu were killed in an airstrike by Kfir bombers of the Sri Lanka Air Force this morning at about 5.45am said sources. Seven civilians injured in artillery attacks by the Sri Lanka Army have been admitted to Mallavi hospital, they said. The dead civilians were named as Tharmarasa Krishnapillai (65), Ramaiah Nallanathan (23), Kumaravelu Punniyalingam (41), Vaithyalingam Kannan (41), Ramanathan Navaratnarasa (37) and Krishnapillai Kamalanathan (40).
