Morning buses operating on the Batticaloa-Colombo road are stopped at Sathurukondaan and the passengers body searched, travellers complained.

At the checkpoint near the Kumburumoolai SLA camp, located 30km north of Batticaloa town, SLA soldiers routinely stop and examine the vehicles and record the details of the vehicles, sources said.
