TNA to get five seats in Vanni

Tamil National Alliance is poised to capture five seats in Vanni electorate obtaining a majority of the 126,000 votes cast, according to unofficial reports reaching from the vote counting offices, TNA sources from Vanni said.

Leader of Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO) and leading candidate for the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), Selvam Adaikalanathan obtained more than 35,000 preferential votes. Following him in the preferential vote count are, EPRLF (Suresh Faction) N.Sivasakthi Anandan second, S.Noharathalingam third, S. Kanagaratnam fourth and Sivanathan Kishor came in fifth place.

Candidate from the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress is expected to be elected as the sixth candidate, according to the same sources.

Official vote counts have not been released yet.
