Claymore defused in Eravur[TamilNet, Friday, 06 January 2006, 11:23 GMT]Sri Lanka Army (SLA) bomb squad Friday 1 p.m. defused a claymore mine found in Puthukudiyiruppu in Eravur along Batticaloa-Valaichenai highway at Thuraichsamy junction, security sources said. The Road Monitoring Patrol of the SLA located the Remote controlled bomb was buried along the roadside. Eravur police said Army convoys that travel along the road might have been the likely target. Additional SLA troops have been brought to the area and heavy checking is ongoing, sources said. Puthukudirppu is located 12 km north of Batticaloa town.
