Journalist dies in motorbike accident in Kilinochchi[TamilNet, Saturday, 06 May 2006, 09:56 GMT]Kanakaratnam Jeyaseelan, Sub-Editor of Vellinatham, the weekly edition of the daily Eelanatham published from Kilinochchi, succumbed to his wounds from a fatal motorbike accident Friday. Mr. Kanakaratnam Jeyaseelan, a young journalist and editor, pen named Seelan, has served the paper for almost 10 years, according to Eelanatham officials. Mr. Jeyaseelan was rushed to Kilinochchi Hospital and later transferred to Jaffna Hospital in serious condition. Seelan, from Ananathanagar in Kilinochchi, was fatally injured when another motorbike collided with his at the Savior shop junction in Kilinochchi at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Jeyaseelan, 27, is from Ananthanagar, Kilinochchi. The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam have conferred him with the title National Patriot (Nattup Patralar).
