Cordon, search operation in Mannar town

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) and Sri Lanka Police conducted combined cordon and search operation in Mannar town Saturday twice, first in the morning and again after 12 noon. All business establishments were searched and employees were subjected to severe interrogation, civil sources said.

Traders were warned not to accommodate strangers in the establishments and not allow any one to keep parcels or other items for safe custody. Police collected details of employees working in these establishments, business circles said.

No one was arrested and no prohibited material was recovered during the search operation, sources said.
