The meeting between Mr.Rajapakse and the Pope comes after the Pope's appeal in his Easter Sunday message to the Government of Sri Lanka and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) to resume peace talks immediately to end the bloody conflict that causes immense suffering to several thousand civilians in Sri Lanka.
