Tamil youth shot, wounded in Trincomalee

A group of armed men who came in a vehicle called out a Tamil youth from his house at Anpuvallipuram, a suburb in Trincomalee town Saturday night, and shot the youth. The seriously injured youth was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit of Trincomalee general hospital, medical sources said.

The seriously injured youth was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit of Trincomalee general hospital, medical sources said. The wounded youth, identified as Sounthararajan Thayalan, 22, has been working in a biscuit manufacturing company located in Mawanella as a driver. He came to his native place, Anpuvallipuram, located in Uppuveli Police Division, to celebrate the Tamil and Sinhala New Year with his parents.
