Muslim civilian shot dead in Nilaave'li

A Muslim civilian was shot dead by unidentified men in Chittoor, a Muslim hamlet in Nilaave'li village located about 16 km off north of Trincomalee along Trincomalee-Kuchchave'li road, Saturday evening. He was identified as Mohamed Mathar, 34, Kuchchave'li police sources said.

The deceased was earlier residing Moothoor and later shifted to Chittoor after tsunami disaster.

Police handed over the body to the Trincomalee general hospital for post-mortem examination and inquest, sources said.
