Muslim businessman reported missing[TamilNet, Saturday, 30 June 2007, 18:57 GMT]A Muslim trader from Kandy, visiting Colombo for purchases of goods for resale, has gone missing since Friday, the victim's relatives reported to the Colombo-based rights group, Civilian Monitoring Committee, sources in Colombo said. Relatves have also lodged complaints with Peradeniya and Pettah police Mohammed Hussein Mohammed, 34, of Murutalawa, Kandy had gone to Pettah area in Colombo for purchase of goods, and had not returned home, his wife said. Meanwhile, Mr. Samarasinghe, Head of the Kandy office of Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission (SLHRC) stated that he has received several complaints of abductions and disappearances of civilians in Kandy district.
