Twenty arrests following grenade attack[TamilNet, Tuesday, 22 February 2000, 11:30 GMT]Twenty young men and women were arrested in Mannar following an attack on Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers at Railway Station road around 8.45 a.m. this morning said sources. Sources said a grenade was thrown at an army tractor that was returning to Thallady camp after delivering food parcel to soldiers manning a sentry at Mannar railway station. A brief firefight was also reported following the grenade attack. However, no casualties were reported. In the ensuing search operation 20 people were arrested and they are being questioned at the SLA camp at Railway station road.
