UNP gearing up to meet President

The Executive Committee and the Parliamentary Group of the United National Party (UNP) will meet on March 6 to decide on final preparations for discussions with President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge on March 9.

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge has invited the UNP leader Mr.Ranil Wickremasinghe for the second time to attend talks on Constitutional Reform Proposals and Resolution of the Ethnic Problem,scheduled for March 9.

A senior UNP Parliamentarian said that the party is most likely to attend this meeting with President Chandrika and the Executive Committee and Parliamentary Group would decide on matters to be placed during the talks on Monday.

Mr.Ranil Wickremasinghe, Mr.Gamini Atukorale, General Secretary and Mr.Karu Jayasuriya, Party's Chairman would be in the UNP team. The other two members of the team would be decided on Monday's meeting, he said.
