Police hand over killed LTTE suspect

Police handed over a body of a youth with gun shot injuries and burn marks on his chest to the Mannar hospital yesterday. Police officials claimed the youth was a member of a Liberation Tigers killed near 'Sector 11' near Uyilankulam in the Mannar District.

Hospital sources said the youth was wearing a sarong and a shirt, and is believed to be between 20-25 years.

Mannar Additional Magistrate, Gious Feldano, ordered the Judicial Medical Officer to conduct a post-mortem and submit a report to the courts.

The JMO told the courts that the Mannar hospital didn't have facilities to conduct a post-mortem.

The Magistrate has ordered the body be sent to Colombo as suggested by the JMO, court sources in Mannar said.
