Police sources in Batticaloa said that two military trained constables were wounded in the attack. Meanwhile the Police in Batticaloa claimed that they discovered a cache of weapons buried by a house in the suburb of Manchanthoduvai in the early hours of the morning today. Seven people from the area have been arrested in this connection.
