16 South Indian fishermen caught fishing illegally

Local fishermen from Mannar rounded up and brought to shore sixteen South Indian fishermen in four boats for illegally entering and fishing in Erukalambity seas in Mannar, sources said.

The incident has been informed to Mannar Government Agent, Mannar Police and to the Mannar political office of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), sources said.

The captured fishermen are being kept in Pallimunai Fisheries Cooperation building and will be handed over to the Police tomorrow, sources added.
