Muslim Council, TRO jointly build shelters in Kinniya

Kinniya Muslim Theologian Council (Jamiethul Ulama Sabah- JUS) and Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) are jointly building 207 temporary shelters in the Muslim dominated Kinniya division for the tsunami affected families, civil sources said. The District Task Force assigned 207 shelters for Kinniya division, out of which TRO handed over construction of 100 units to JUS.

TRO has already distributed relief and other related assistance to hundreds of tsunami victims in Kinniya division through the Kinniya Jamiethul Ulama Sabah, sources said

Kinniya leading Muslim citizens have welcomed the TRO decision as positive gesture to promote and strengthen the Tamil-Muslim unity in the district, sources said.

Meanwhile TRO Wednesday supplied relief materials and other related assistance to Muslim tsunami victims sheltered in Jamaliya welfare centre in Uppuveli, a suburb in Trincomalee, sources said.
