Madhu SLA seeks Tiger activists

The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) searched the general area of Madhu today for ex-members of the Liberation Tigers who have not yet reported and registered themselves with the local military authorities.
Five persons who were suspected by the army to be former members of the LTTE were asked immediately surrender the their identity papers issued by the Sri Lankan security forces to residents and refugees in the general area of Madhu. Civilians in the area were warned not to harbour ex-members of the Liberation Tigers. Meanwhile a protest fast will be staged by civilians at the Infant Jesus Church in Puthukkudiyiruppu tomorrow morning from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to demand that the SLA should withdraw from Madhu said sources in the Vanni today.
