Retired Indian army general Satish Nambiar arrived in
Colombo Tuesday afternoon from Madurai in South India by Indian Airlines, sources in Colombo said.
General Satish Nambiar has been assigned by the United National Front (UNF)
government to submit his recommendations related to the presence of high security zones (HSZ) in Jaffna
district. In the meantime the Sinhala Nationalist Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP)
Tuesday charged that the suggestions made by the Sri Lanka Monitoring
Mission (SLMM) to avoid confrontation between Sri Lanka Navy and LTTE in sea will affect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the
country. JVP leader Mr.Wimal Weerawanse made this accusation in an address to Sri Lanka parliament Tuesday, sources said. SLMM's suggestions would pave way for the Liberation Tigers to freely move in the
sea area without any check, JVP parliamentarian Wimal Weerawanse said.
