SL President invites PM for talks on national government[TamilNet, Monday, 10 November 2003, 12:43 GMT]In a letter sent to the Prime Minister Monday evening Sri Lanka’s President Ms Chandrika Kumaratunge has invited Prime Minister Mr.Ranil Wickremasinghe for talks on her proposal to form a Government of Reconstruction and reconciliation. She has given three dates and times to hold the talks, government sources said. Copies of the letter were also sent to Deputy Leader of the Party Mr.Karu Jayasuriya and Party Chairman Mr.Malik Samarawickrema. The letter sent by the President Ms Chandrika Kumaratunge follows: - “Dear Prime Minister, In view of the current situation political situation in the country and my proposal last week to form a Government of Reconstruction and Reconciliation, I would like to meet you in order to discuss your views on this matter May I suggest any one of the following dates and times:
May I also suggest that you consider bringing a small delegation of senior representatives of you Party for this meeting. Yours Sincerely, Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge.
