LTTE destroys Pornographic material found in Vavuniya

Liberation Tigers destroyed a set of pornographic books in Sinhala Language found in a package left unattended near the rest room at the Vavuniya Bus station Saturday, civil society sources in Vavuniya said.

When the news of the said material reached the LTTE offices in Vavuniya, Head of Vavuniya LTTE political wing, Elilan, rushed to the scene and confiscated the package and the loose material from the curious passengers.

The books may have been brought from the South for sale in the Northeast, said residents of Vavuniya who knew about the incident.

"Elements that are keen on polluting the culture and the social well-being of the traditionally conservative NorthEast Tamils may be behind these attempts to smuggle sexually explicit material to NorthEast," Elilan said.
