Revenge killing by STF?

A retired government official was shot dead last evening by Special Task Force (STF) commandos of the Sri Lankan Police, at Kaluwanchikudy, south of Batticaloa, for not responding promptly to an order by them to alight from his bicycle. Sources said that it was a revenge killing by the STF.
Nallathamby Ganeshamoorthy, 62, retired fisheries inspector, had an argument with the STF last month during which he had raised his hand against one of the police commandos. The STF commandos had been very angry that he had dared to do so and had awaited an opportunity to take revenge, said a friend of Ganeshamoorthy who spoke on condition of anonymity. Meanwhile, an SLA soldier was killed and another wounded when suspected members of the Liberation Tigers lobbed a grenade at them near the Chenkalady junction, 14 kilometers north of Batticaloa, this afternoon around 4.15 p.m. said Police sources.
