"Vote to express sole representative status of LTTE" - Poet

Head of the Arts and Cultural Department of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam Poet, Puthuvai Ratnathurai, Tuesday speaking at a film release event said, "The forthcoming general election is a crucial one in the liberation struggle of Tamils. I appeal to Tamils to vote for the Tamil National Alliance. The international community are keen to see if Tamils are fully supporting the LTTE and its interim self governing authority proposals," said Mr.Puthuvai Ratnathurai.

Mr.Ratnathurai gave his keynote address at the releasing event of a new film “AMMA NALAMA (Mother, are you well?)” to mark the 18th anniversary of NITHARSANAM television service of the LTTE held Tuesday evening at the Jaffna University Library Auditorium. NITHARSANAM Jaffna District Head Mr.Appan presided. Mr.Appan hoisted the Tamil Eelam National flag at the commencement of the event. LTTE Jaffna district political head Mr.C.Ilamparuthi released the first copy of the film. TNA activists and candidates, Mavai Senathirajah and C.V.K.Sivagnanam, bought the first copies. Writer Mr.Shanthan delivered the address of appreciation of the film, which was directed by Mr.N.Kesavarajan. "Sections of media are giving exaggerated version of incidents that are taking place in the eastern province. Tamils should be cautious in taking decision regarding their future," said Mr.Ratnathurai.
Puthuvai Ratnathurai speaking"The results of the forthcoming general election will tell the international community an important aspect of our freedom struggle. Some ask what is the use of participating in the elections. I did not have confidence in elections in the past. I have not exercised my franchise for the last fifty years. But this time the elections are to going to play a vital role. Tamils should vote for TNA to show that they accept the LTTE as the sole representative of Tamils,” said Mr.Ratnathurai. “We appeal to Tamils to vote for symbol "HOUSE." We will not ask them to vote for any individual. Tamil voters in Jaffna district should ensure that all the nine parliamentary seats in the district go to TNA," said Mr.Ratnathurai.
