Jaffna university students to canvass for TNA

The Jaffna University Students Union announced Saturday that it will campaign in support of the Tamil National Alliance. A students’ spokesman told TamilNet the Union decided to take the unprecedented step “to fight against the divisive forces that are threatening the Tamil people’s political future and well being today”.

He said that Jaffna University Students “will campaign for the victory of the TNA in every nook and corner of the peninsula”.

“We strongly felt we have an urgent historical duty now to defeat the forces against Tamil Nationalism”, the Union said.

Hundreds of Jaffna University students will begin canvassing support for the TNA from Monday, the Union spokesman told TamilNet.
