Operation-USA, TRO donate medical equipment to NE hospitals

"Operation USA" and the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization
(TRO) donated Rs.10,000,000 rupees worth of medical equipment to the Government Agents of the eight districts in the northeast
province to be distributed to state medical institutions in their health
divisions, health officials said. Handing over event was held Thursday evening in the Vavuniya
district secretariat presided by Vavuniya Government Agent Mr. R.Ganesh, TRO sources said.
Government Agents and their representatives attended the event and accepted the consignments of medical equipment for their respective districts. Vanni district parliamentarians Messrs Selvam Adaikalanathan, Sivanathan
Kishor and S.Noharathalingam and the district directors of the TRO in the
northeast province attended the event. Recipients thanked the "Operation
USA" for its contribution and TRO for the ongoing support to the health
services in the province. They requested continued support and
contribution to assist health services in Sri Lanka, sources said. TRO Executive Director Mr. Reggie pledged continued assistance to the
health services. Participants said that such efforts would support the peace process and
would instill confidence in the people to look at future peace prospects with optimism, sources said.
