Two women arrested

Two women were taken into custody by the SLA on Friday at Purapporukki junction where the road to Udupiddy branches off from the Jaffna-Pt. Pedro road. The women were arrested following the discovery of a claymore mine which had been set in front of the house where the women were staying.

The army had questioned the child of one of the women and had arrested the mother and the other women in the house. The child had told the SLA personnel who had questioned her that her mother knew that there was a mine in front of their house.

The women are still in army custody.
