Norwegian ambassador in Sri Lanka Mr. Hans Brattskar is scheduled to hold
discussions with the Political Head of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam
(LTTE) Mr.S.P.Thamilchelvan Tuesday, sources in Colombo said.
The talks between Mr. Brattskar and Mr.Thamilchelvan are likely to focus on
the preparation of agenda aiming to resume the stalled peace process
between the Government of Sri Lanka and the LTTE, sources said. Secretary General of Sri Lanka Government Peace Secretariat Mr.Jayantha Dhanapala last week
requested the Norwegian facilitators to prepare the agenda for future
talks between the parties concerned. Mr.Brattskar's visit to Kilinochchi is to take place following the meeting between Sri
Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) head Major General (retd) Trond Furuhovde
and Mr.Thamilchelvan Sunday in Killinochchi. The talks
centred on the current political situation and peace process, sources said.
