SL Govt. is preparing for war-Jaffna undergrads

''Main aim of the Deputy Defense Minister Mr.Ratnasiri Wickremanayake's visit to Jaffna district was to put the security forces on red alert for another war. His inspection of Sri Lanka Army (SLA) forward defense lines of Muhamalai has proved Sri Lanka government's intention beyond any doubt,'' said the Jaffna University Students Forum (JUSF) in a statement issued to the media today.

US army officers have been actively engaged in providing military training to Sri Lankan armed forces in Jaffna. The Sri Lanka government is telling the world that it is committed to seeking a peaceful political solution for the ethnic trouble. At the same time it is strengthening its armed forces with foreign military assistance. This has proved that the Sinhala political leadership is not genuine in pursuing peace, said the JUSF statement.

JSUF further said that the government's true intention is to drag the peace process under the guise of ceasefire until its military is strenghtened and is ready to fight.

''Tamil people has lost all confidence on the Sri Lanka Government with its current anti-peace approach,'' JSUF statement said.
