British HC official to visit Trincomalee

Mr.David Waring, First Secretary for Investment and Trade in the British
High Commission in Sri Lanka is scheduled to visit east port town of
Trincomalee on a fact-finding mission on August 5, Colombo sources said.
Mr.Waring would meet the members of the Trincomalee District Chamber
of Commerce and Industries (TDCCI) on August 5 morning around 10 a.m.to
obtain the urgent needs of the business community in Trincomalee. The
discussion will be held in the office of the TDCCI. Mr. Waring would
identify the needs in the form of investments and trade in Trincomalee from
TDCCI officials, sources said. Later in the afternoon Mr. Waring is scheduled to meet
the representatives of the non-governmental organizations (NGO) in the
office of the Trincomalee District NGOs Consortium. Mr. Waring is
expected to discuss with NGOs' representatives to find out the Trincomalee
ground situation and the role of the NGOs in improving socio-economic
development, sources said.
