Swiss man killed in Batticaloa

A Swiss national was killed in a grenade blast Monday night in Batticaloa, Police said. Mr. Ken Ulrich, 61, was at his home in Mamangam, a suburb of Batticaloa town, when an unidentified person lobbed a grenade at him, sources said. Mr. Ulrich married a woman in Batticaloa and settled down in the eastern town two years ago.

Police said the reason for the attack was not clear. The attacker got away, they said.
