TRO opens its fifth divisional office in Trinco district

Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) Wednesday opened its fifth divisional office in Punnaiady, a remote village in Eachchilampathu Division in the Trincomalee district.

Four divisional offices of the TRO are already functioning in Kattaiparichan in Muttur division, Thampalakamam in Thampalakamam division, Thiriyai and Kuchchaveli in Kuchchaveli division. TRO has its Trincomalee district office in the heart of eastern port town.

Mr.S.Elilan, Trincomalee district political head of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) unveiled the name board of the TRO Eachchilampathu division office.

Mr.Sanjai, head of the Tamil National Resurgence Movement opened the office by cutting the ribbon. The traditional lamp was lit by Mr.Elilan, Mr.Sanjai, Mr.Kiruba, TRO Trincomalee district Director and Mr.Kuperan, head of the Maveerar Unit of the LTTE, sources said.

Mr.N.Anbalagan has been appointed as the co-ordinator of the TRO, Eachchilampathu divisional office, the sources said.

Mr.Elilan said at the event that TRO would expand its activities to provide urgent needs to the war affected families in the district through its divisional offices. "TRO currently provides assistance to the needy from the funds channelled through the LTTE on the instruction our national leader", Mr.Elilan said

Mr.Kiruba said TRO has opened its fifth divisional office in a remote village to assist villagers who are affected by the war and left in the lurch.
