Balasingham arrives in Kilinochchi for consultations

Political advisor of the Liberation Tigers, Mr. Anton Balasingham, arrived in Kilinochchi Tuesday morning around 11 in a Sri Lankan Air Force Helicopter. He was accompanied by his wife Ms. Adele Balasingham. Mr. Balasingham was welcomed by Col. Soosai, Commander of the Sea Tigers and Mr. S. P Thamilchelvan, head of the LTTE’s political division. He will hold consultations with the leader of the Liberation Tigers, Mr. Velupillai Pirapaharan regarding the current state of the peace process in Sri Lanka, LTTE officials said.



Mr. Balasingham will assist the LTTE leader in his talks with Norwegian foreign minister Mr. Jan Peterson, scheduled for Thursday.

Col. Ramesh, Col. Jeyam, commander of LTTE’s western front forces, Mr. P. Nadesan, head of the Thamil Eelam Police Service, Col. Vidusha, commander of the Malathy Regiment, Mr. E Pararajasingham, head of Thamil Eelam Judiciary and several other LTTE officials were also present on the grounds to welcome Mr. Balasingham.

The LTTE political advisor declined to speak to the press about his visit.
