TRO distributes relief to Trinco Tsunami Muslim victims[TamilNet, Tuesday, 11 January 2005, 14:13 GMT]Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) has distributed several thousand rupees worth relief materials to hundreds of Tsunami Muslim victims in the district. TRO Trincomalee district team led by its Director Mr.Jeha visited Kinniya Central College and handed over several packages of relief items to the management of the Kinniya Jamiethul Ulama Council (KJUC). TRO officials held a discussion with officials of the KJUC regarding the situation prevailing in Kinniya, which suffered badly in the tsunami disaster. TRO officials told KJUC officials that TRO would not show any discrimination on ethnic line in providing relief to victims, sources said KJUC officials thanked the TRO for the impartial service to mankind at a time of natural disaster, sources said TRO handed over relief to about fifty Muslim fisherfamies in the east port town who have lost their livelihood as fish sales have dropped to minimum after Tsunami disaster on an appeal made by Mohideen Muslim Fisheries Society that they have been ignored by the government in providing relief, sources said. TRO also distributed relief materials to Muslim victims in Irrankakandy village north of Trincomalee town, TRO sources said.
