Hindu Congress assists tsunami victims in Trinco

The All Ceylon Hindu Congress (ACHC) Wednesday started distributing relief materials worth five hundred thousand rupees to tsunami affected families in the coastal areas of the Trincomalee district. The inaugural event of the distribution was held at Thirukadaloor Namagal Vidiyalayam, a suburb in the east port town Wednesday morning. The distribution is being done through the Trincomalee District Young Men Hindu Federation (TDYMHA), sources said

Mr.K.Rajapuvaneeswaran, Vice president of the ACHC inaugurated the event by distributing exercise books to students affected
tsunami.Mr.S.Sivapathasuntheram and Mr.C.Abimannasingham, General Secretary and Administrative Secretary of the TDYMHA respectively associated in the event. Two lorries load of relief materials including new clothes, utensils, toys and essential food items have been brought down from Colombo for distribution, sources said The ACHC delegation is also to visit tsunami affected Hindu temples in the coastal areas to assess the damages and to prepare estimate for the reconstruction, Mr.Sivapathasuntheram said.
