Expressing collective Tamil concern over Colombo's handling of the post-tsunami humanitarian crises in the war ravaged NorthEast, Mr. S.P.Thamilchelvan, LTTE's Political Head who is leading an LTTE delegation to Europe on a diplomatic mission, invited Thursday Netherland's Foreign Ministry to send a fact finding mission to the tsunami devastated NorthEast. The LTTE team met with Netherlands Foreign Ministry's Deputy Director-General for Political Affairs, Mr. Herman A Schaper on Thursday, sources close to the LTTE said.

"We are waiting for the report from our Embassy in Colombo on the progress made by the parties in formulating a Joint structure for post tsunami rehabilitation, reconstruction and development in consultation with the Norwegian facilitators to the peace process," LTTE Peace Secretariat website quoted Mr. Schaper as saying to Mr. Thamilchelvan. "A fact-finding team would be in a position to report on the ground realities rather than depending on malicious reports put out by interested parties," the LTTE Website quoted Mr. Thamilchelvan as saying. Earlier, on Wednesday, the LTTE delegation met with Prof. dr. ir. Georg E. Frerks, of the Social Sciences Group, Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Dr. Frerks is a rural sociologist focusing on emergencies and emergency-related interventions.
