TECH assists tsunami affected Muttur east, Vaakarai

Trincomalee Economic Consultancy House (TECH) in collaboration with a non-governmental organization "SUSTAIN-United Kingdom" distributed ten sewing machines to women who lost their husbands in the tsunami disaster in the Muttur east villages. The donation was channelled through the Muttur East Women Development Association, TECH co-ordinator Mr.N.Kalaisangar said.

The handing over event was held at Sampoor Fisheries Central hall. Ms Kaaronja, LTTE Trincomalee district women political wing head handed over the sewing machines to the beneficiaries. Mr.S.Sritharan, District Head of the TECH and its co-ordinator Mr.N.Kalaisangar and several leading citizens of the area participated in the event, sources said. In another event held in Vaakarai, TECH distributed ten solar power units to ten schools in the Vaakarai division to conduct evening classes to students affected by tsunami disaster.

Mr.Semmanan is Heads of Kallady Tamil Vidiyalayam, Uriankaddu Government Tamil School, Arunthathy Vidiyalayam, Panichankerni Thirumagal Vidiyalayam, Thadduraimuni Manikka Pillaiyar Vidiyalayam, Palsenai Government Tamil School, Irumichchaiodai Government Tamil School, Punnaiyady Tamil School, Ilankaithurai Muhathuwaram Vidiyalayam and Vaakarai Maha Vidiyalayam received the solar power units. Mr.Thamilmaran, Kathiraveli Political head presided. Mr.Semmanan, Trincomalee district deputy political head of the LTTE, Mr.Theepan, District Sports Head and several others participated in the event.
