Jaffna uneasy as bomber buried

One soldier was killed and another injured in an explosion at a bunker near Chavakachcheri Hindu College at Chavakachcheri, 18 km south of Jaffna, last evening, said sources in Jaffna.

Meanwhile, the male suicide bomber who killed Brigadier Larry Wijeratne, was buried today, after an inquest conducted at Pt. Pedro Hospital by judicial officials, said sources in Jaffna.

The burial was carried out under heavy security given by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA).

Meanwhile traders and shopkeepers in Pt. Pedro have decided to keep their shops closed tomorrow as well, in the aftermath of the killing of Brigadier Wijeratne, said sources.
