SLA thrust repulsed, post attacked

Sri Lankan Army soldiers who tried to advance from Karadippoku junction around 2.00 a.m. today were attacked by the Liberation Tigers,said theVoice of Tigers in its night transmission today.

The body of one of the SLA soldiers killed in the fighting was recovered by the Tigers, the radio said.

Six LTTE fighters died in the fighting, said the VoT.

The radio also said that four Sri Lankan Army soldiers were killed when the Liberation Tigers attacked an army post at Kombukainchaan in Mannar, on Monday at 5.50 a.m.

The SLA post was completely destroyed after ten minutes of fighting, the radio said. Some arms and ammuition were removed the SLA post, it added.
