Gale force winds buffet Trincomalee coasts

Coastal areas in Muttur division and some parts of Trincomalee division Friday evening experienced heavy rain with strong winds and lightning. In the LTTE held Sampoor area a youth was injured in lightning and he was admitted to the LTTE hospital, civil sources said.

In several parts in Muttur east roofs were blown off and big trees were uprooted due to strong wind combined with rain, civil sources said.

Trincomalee town also experienced strong winds.

Electricity supply was interrupted for more than thirty minutes, civil sources said.
