Jaffna gets new High Court Judge

Mr.S.Thiagendran, Trincomalee District Judge has been promoted High Court Judge. He is to assume duties as High Court Judge of Jaffna with effect from September 26, filling the vacancy created following the retirement of Mr.K.P.S.Varatharajah from judicial service.
Mr.Thiagendran took oaths as the High Court Judge Thursday before the Chief Justice Mr.Sarath Silva.  Jaffna new High Court Judge Mr.S.Thiagendran.
Mr.Thiagendran passed out as an Attorney-at-Law in 1976, with First Class Honors. He joined the Sri Lanka's Judicial Service in 1986 as the Primary Court Judge. Later he was elevated as Magistrate and Additional District Judge. He was promoted District Judge of Trincomalee about three years ago, legal sources said. He served in the districts of Mannar, Vavuniya and Trincomalee in several judicial capacities, according to the sources.
