Former Chamber of commerce chief murdered

A businessman, S. Namasivayam, 57, was murdered yesterday around 3.00 p.m. in Koddady near Jaffna town centre. The Sri Lankan Polices has arrested two men on suspicion, said sources in Jaffna.

Mr. Namasivayam was cycling his way to his home when the was attacked and beheaded by two men, said witnesses. However, they were not able to identify them.

Mr. Namasivayam had been holding the position of head of the Chamber of Commerce of Jaffna for the past 8 years . He had resigned from his position on May 30. He had said he was resigning due to illness.
