LTTE cautions Jaffna residents of poster hoax

Jaffna district Political Wing of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) today issued a statement warning people to be vigilant of the fake posters and leaflets being circulated by anti-LTTE elements in Jaffna. "The leaflets printed under the Tiger insignia and signed by "Jaffna district LTTE political section," requesting people to vote in the forthcoming presidential elections, are fake and a hoax being perpertrated by nefarious elements to cause confusion among voters," the statement from the LTTE said. The posters were seen posted in Gurunagar and areas surrounding Jaffna town, Sunday.

Meanwhile, for the past several weeks leaflets by an organization calling itself "People Force," have been circulating leaflets urging district residents to abstain from voting, and exhorting the security forces to vacate Jaffna.
