Lorry owner shot dead in Batticaloa

A lorry owner in Batticaloa, Mr. Vinasithamby Kandasamy, 46, was shot and killed by an unidentified assailant Friday around 7:00 p.m. at a shop in Koolavady, a suburb of Batticaloa town.

The victim was a resident of Koolavady, 4th cross street in Batticaloa.

The assailant used a 9 mm handgun and shot the victim, Batticaloa Police said adding that the reason behind the killing was not clear.
