Two Muslim fishermen shot dead in Kalmunai

Unidentified gunmen shot and killed two Muslim anglers Monday night at Maruthamunai, 34 km south of Batticaloa town. Maruthamunai remained tense Tuesday morning when the dead bodies were recovered by the Police. Batticaloa - Kalmunai road remained deserted with no vehicular traffic, civilian sources said.

The victims were identified as Mr. Nizwan, 22, and Mr. Rizwan, 32.

Kalmunai police is conducting investigations into the killings.
