Mobile service to reissue tsunami destroyed student documents

The Department of Examination has decided to conduct mobile service in schools in the coast areas affected by the tsunami with the objective of assisting students and teachers to obtain copies of their destroyed certificates and other documents needed for them to pursue their higher education or for employment purposes, sources said.

Eight mobile services will be conducted as a first phase, said Mr.Anura Edirisinghe, Commissioner General of Examinations.

Principals of schools affected by tsunami could submit details of destroyed documents related to marks obtained by students in examinations and obtain certified copies of those documents during the mobile service. Government servants and employees of other organizations residing in these areas also could obtain the services of the mobile service. Officials of the Department of Examination would also present during mobile service, sources said.
