Health Center opened in Vakarai

The opening of a Day-Care Center with Nutritious Park constructed by the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) at a cost of two million rupees and a Health Center with the funding of Tamil Cultural Society of Manitoba (Canada) and Hindu Society of Manitoba (Canada) and implemented by Trincomalee TRO took place Wednesday at Vakarai village in the Batticaloa district at two separate events.

Mr.Girithas, Vakarai Assistant Government Agent declared open the Day Care Center with Nutritious Park in the morning.

Mr.Elilan, LTTE Trincomalee district political head unveiled the name board, sources said.

The opening of the Winnipeg Health Care Center was held later in the Wednesday evening. Mr.Elilan was the chief guest. Mr.Ahilan, Principal of the Vakarai Government School and Dr.Richard of Australia lit the traditional oil lamp, sources said.

Mr.S.Vijeykumar, Trincomalee District Director of the TRO presided over the two events, sources said.
