Outgoing Trinco SLMM head meets Sornam, Elilan in Sampoor

Mr. Arthur Tveiten, Head of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) in Trincomalee district, Saturday met with Colonel Sornam, Special Commander of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in Trincomalee district, and Mr.Elilan, Trincomalee district political head at Sampoor political secretariat in Muttur east on the eve of relinquishing his post next Tuesday, sources said.

Mr. Arthur Tveiten is to be replaced by Mr.Ove Janssen as Trincomalee district head from March 7th, sources said.

Mr. Arthur Tveiten held discussion with LTTE leaders regarding several matters concerning the general situation in the Trincomalee district.

LTTE leaders reiterated during the discussion that Sri Lanka government troops have arrested five LTTE cadres on February 25 and they have evidence to prove their charge, sources said.
